4/11/2023 0 Comments Summer camp daily schedule sampleAfter this break, a PASSPORT Staffer will lead the Adult Devotion Time with room for discussion and prayer. During this time, you will have a chance to interact with the Program Staffers, who will all be gathered to meet you, answer your questions, and address your concerns. The adult time will start with important announcements followed by a coffee break that we call the Daily Grind. We ask that you encourage all of your chaperones to attend this time each day to be more connected to the camp experience, as this time will inform you of what your students will learn in Bible Study. Students are asked to bring a Bible with them (any translation is OK).Īdult Meeting – While the students are in small group Bible study, we invite all the adult chaperones to a time of brief announcements, a break to check in back home, and then a short but focused time of Devotion. Our Bible studies are written thoughtfully to engage minds on many levels: visually, verbally, kinesthetically, and socially in the hopes that we encourage students to dig deeper into each biblical text. We hope to interact meaningfully with youth and adults from other regions, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds. We hope we can bridge the gap of hierarchy that so often exists within youth groups. Each youth comes to camp with different life experiences, circumstances, and maturity levels, and we can all learn something from these experiences. We believe that all youth, no matter the age, have something to offer. What might be given up in specifically accommodating developmental differences is more than gained back in interaction, role modeling, and peer leadership. Second, as an educational matter, we like to encourage older and younger youth interaction during camp. Within each House, campers will be mixed randomly for Bible Study, intentionally for two reasons: First, as a practical matter, senior high students help provide maturity and leadership for all groups. Bible Study is by PASSPORT staffers who spend an intensive 10-day training period before camp, equipping them for the diverse needs each week will bring.Ĭhurches will be separated into four Houses for the week. Morning Celebration – Energy is key for this daily event! After 30 minutes of songs, laughter, announcements, and awards, campers are awake and ready to head to Bible study with their new friends.īible Study (Students) – Students will build community through shared experiences and fresh encounters with God by studying scripture together. Opening Celebration – Campers are introduced to the Camp Theme, the Passport Staff, and other fun information to prepare them for the week ahead. Setting the daily tone, each devotion focuses on our relationship with Christ and readies campers to hear God speak throughout the day. Morning Devotion – Each morning after breakfast, a written personal devotion begins our discussion of the theme for the day. Meals – Churches will be assigned meal times for the week and paired with the other churches in your House. New Churches are invited to a campus tour to help find their way around. Check-In – Churches will complete their registration and get rooming assignments.
